For those of you out there that haven’t seen it, here’s a look at “Sicko”, Michael Moore’s last film. Now I know what some of you are saying, but, I implore you – hold judgement untill you’ve seen it (assuming you haven’t). Imagine the commentary is someone else – Fred Thomspon, or Lou Dobbs – whomever your little heart desires. Just because the speaker has critics, doesn’t mean there’s not a story to be told, or lessons to be learned.
Just allow your ears to hear the words and process the information fairly, and more importantly, free from the bias of critics. In a nutshell – YOU DECIDE.
Because the fact of the matter is, it really comes down to you. If you believe that our current process is working just fine then – great. I’d like to know how – but, great. So give the film a fair chance in the name of learning what’s it’s like in other people’s shoes.
If you believe there’s something inherently broken with a healthcare system that turns the well-being of our nation into profit margins for corporate giants – then watch and see if you can’t learn something new.
Don’t let the fear of “Socialized Medicine!” , or “beuracrats running healthcare!” scare you off. Just remember – there’s billions of dollars at stake and the critics are holding their fair share. They’re betting you’re dumb enough to fall for the spin, get scared of their fear tactics, duck tail, and run from anything that would upset the current flow. They’re hoping you won’t investigate any alternatives on your own, you’ll take their word for it, and bend over…
